Associate Engineering Manager

DUTIES…
- Deputise for the Engineering Manager and support departmental objectives, resource planning and strategy.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching and performance management for the Engineering Maintenance team.
- Coordinate engineering and maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
- Ensure maintenance is planned, prioritised and carried out effectively through the CMMS.
- Lead reliability improvements using preventative, predictive and condition-based maintenance strategies.
- Ensure all engineering activities meet current good manufacturing practice, Good Engineering Practice and health and safety requirements.
- Support regulatory inspections, customer audits and internal audits.
- Lead investigations into equipment failures and deviations using root cause analysis, and ensure effective CAPAs are put in place.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem solving.
- Manage engineering projects, including equipment upgrades, installation, commissioning and validation.
- Manage engineering contractors and service providers.
- Maintain robust spare parts and critical inventory management.
- Champion a proactive safety culture and support site sustainability objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED..
- Experience leading or supervising an engineering maintenance team.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology or other cGMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing engineering contractors and service providers.
- Experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System
- Understanding of cGMP, Good Engineering Practice and data integrity principles.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience of equipment installation, commissioning, qualification and validation.
- Strategic thinker who can balance short-term priorities with long-term objectives.
- Analytical and data driven in decision making.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to challenge, escalate and influence to maintain GMP standards.
