Job Title: HGV Tyre Fitter
Location: Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: Mon–Fri, 7am – 5pm. Occasional weekend shifts and overtime as the project requires.
Job Type: Permanent basis
You will be the backbone of our clients fleet maintenance team. Tasked with overseeing everything from stock management to rapid breakdown coordination, you’ll ensure our clients extensive HGV fleet stays safe and operational 24/7. This is a key internal position for a skilled fitter who values precision, safety, and a professional working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Full management of HGV tyre stock.
- Expert fitting, replacement, and maintenance across our clients entire fleet.
- Identify repairable tyres and liaise with partners for collections.
- Act as the first point of contact for tyre-related incidents.
- Coordinate third-party tyre companies for off-site breakdowns.
- Conduct weekly fleet-wide checks to ensure 100% roadworthiness.
- Maintain precise logs of usage, repairs, and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of HGV and commercial vehicle systems.
- Extensive experience in fitting and maintaining heavy-duty tyres.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage stock levels.
- Industry-recognised qualifications (IRTEC, NVQ, or similar) are highly desirable.
