Location: Nr Synod Inn (Ceredigion) and/or Tenby (Pembrokeshire)
Hours: 2 Days WFH, 3 days on site, at least 1 day per week @ Synod Inn.
Type: Permanent
Salary: £50k – £55k
 
Our client: Our client operates withing the hospitality industry and has a varied business model within this.
 
Job Description/ The role:
To lead the finance department with delegation and supervision of Accounts staff in inputting data, bank and stock reconciliation and month end accounts control procedures.
Production of monthly management accounts and annual budgets for all of the group companies.
Provide accurate financial reports and forecasting data.
Submission of accounts and statistical data to the required bodies including the bank and the auditors.
Manage the smooth running of the accounts function.
Provide support and guidance for all financial and accounts-related matters.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of monthly management accounts for the companies reconciled to budgets for circulation to Directors within 7 days of the end of the following month annotated by explanations for material variances.
Preparation of Quarterly management accounts for the companies reconciled to budgets for circulation to Directors and external Group accountants within 7 days of the end of the following month annotated by explanations for material variances for consolidation by them for the Bank and Quarterly Management meeting 6 days thereafter.
Preparation of VAT Returns for the group companies.
To consider updating budgets based on actual results, quarterly after discussion with the Directors and Finance and Banking specialist.
Preparation of year-end accounts and submission to Group auditors with reconciled audit file within 7 days of the end of 3 months following the financial year-end.
Post financial transactions to the accounts package, including journals.
Oversee monthly stock reconciliations; coordinate year-end stock count and audit visit.
Regularly review and maintain accounts postings, addressing issues such as old purchase invoices and mis-postings.
Prepare site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
To attend Weekly meetings with the directors to discuss matters in hand and any issues.
To lead discussions and achieve finance, where appropriate, for asset acquisition and finance.
Liaising with Group accountants when customary and information requested.
Provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
Actively participate in, promote, and embody company values.
Performing any task that may reasonably be requested in order to facilitate the running of the parks.
 
What we need from you/ requirements/ what you will have:
Qualifications: [ACCA/CIMA/ACA]
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
