Are you a Transport Manager who thrives when the stakes are high?
Our client is a key player in essential service logistics, and they need a Night Transport Operations Manager who thrives under pressure.
From managing reactive emergency utility contracts to ensuring the fleet remains fully compliant, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver excellence in a safety-critical environment. You’ll take the lead to make big decisions and you’ll have the expertise to ensure our client’s service delivery never wavers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all night-shift transport activities, ensuring seamless service delivery for high-priority utility contracts.
- Guarantee 100% adherence to driver hours and vehicle safety standards, protecting the Operator Licence and OCRS scores.
- Act as the lead for real-time incident response, managing escalations and documentation for critical out-of-hours events.
- Oversee driver rotas, vehicle utilisation, and fleet availability to maximize efficiency across the shift.
- Conduct comprehensive end-of-shift reconciliations to ensure the day management team is perfectly positioned for success.
Requirements:
- A National or International CPC in Road Haulage (attained or currently in progress).
- Up-to-date knowledge of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence requirements.
- Solid experience managing transport or logistics operations, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- A confident decision-maker who stays calm and focused when managing emergency or high-priority situations.
- An IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or similar) to champion our “Safety First” is desirable.
- A valid First Aid at Work certificate is a bonus!
