ABOUT THE COMPANY
A diverse West Wales based public sector client is looking for a Pension Officer to support the HR Department.
The hours of work are 37 hours a week Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm. Competitive Salary of £30,984 – £32,798
Welsh speaker is desirable for the position, but not essential!
THE ROLE
A little bit about the duties;
- Responsible to the Head of HR
- To understand and interpret pension scheme legislation
- Collate information
- Manage medical retirement process
- Provide line management to Pensions Assistant
- Deputise for the HR Manager and Senior Payroll Officer providing line manager guidance and support in their absence
- Prepare and present reports to the Local Pensions Board
- Be representative at local working parties and committee’s as needed
- Manage all duties relating to procedures involving Pension’s
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU…
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals
- Qualified to degree level, e.g Pensions Administration or Management
- Understanding of Data Protection
- Knowledge of pension legislation, administration and/or management
- Understanding of the role of Local Pension Boards
- Experience working in a pension scheme administration environment or processing pension / payroll information
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Great communication skills
