Procurement Assistant

This company has a large presence across the UK and this role will be based at the Baglan, Port Talbot Factory.
We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join this organisation in January 2025.

What you will be doing as the Procurement Assistant.

We are looking for a proactive Procurement Assistant to join the team in Port Talbot. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the Procurement Department, ensuring accurate supplier information, timely purchase orders, and effective communication with stakeholders.

• You will also manage key procurement tasks such as maintaining quality assurance data, monitoring supplier agreements, and chasing deliveries.
• This is a vital role that contributes to the smooth running of our supply chain processes.
•  Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed, in accordance with the Business Management Systems
•  Administration support for the Head of Supply Chain Services.
• Ensure that documentation within area of control is kept up to date on IFS, in accordance with the rules set and in collaboration with key technical personnel to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company are met.
• New Supplier Set up on IFS.
•  Raising purchase orders for the Port Talbot site.

A little about you and what you need;

• A solid understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
• You will have a solid work history with at least 2 years’ work place experience within a similar position.
• You will have Microsoft Office software skills –advanced Excel knowledge essential.
• Good literacy, numeracy and high degree of computer literacy. 
• Proficiency with ERP systems, ideally IFS or similar.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• High level of accuracy when handling data and maintaining records essential
