This company have a large presence across the UK and this role will be based at the Port Talbot Factory.
What you will be doing as the Procurement Manager;
This role reports to the Head of Procurement and works very closely with other members of the Procurement Department
- Develop and Implement Commodity Strategies to minimise risk to company and support Ethical sourcing;
- Understanding of markets, current and emerging, effectively informing and influencing business stakeholders;
- Development, contract and maintain effective partnerships that minimise risk and cost to to the company
- In-depth understanding of legislation, regulations, best practice and trends affecting Procurement and use Continuous Improvement techniques to improve total acquisition cost in area of responsibility
- Business contact and specialist for Commodity areas; Anticipate unfavourable events through analysis of data, monitoring of market reports and propose strategies that include effective and proactive communication to stakeholders.;
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are following, in accordance with the Business Management System;
- Ensure that all legislation relevant to Procurement is adhered to. Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
- Procurement Champion for Energy and Carbon
A little about you;
- MCIPs desirable but not essential – maybe you are qualified by experience
- Ideally have 5 years experience within a similar position
- Demonstrable experience within a Procurement/Purchasing Role
- Experience of administering all aspects of procurement procedures and systems, ideally with experience of sourcing and procuring a large and varied portfolio
- Experience of participating in tender processes and framework agreements
- Strong awareness of contract law
- Ability to negotiate large capital projects and understand and evaluate contractual terms.
- Understanding of energy market and procuring energy
- Managing central overhead areas such as Business systems.
- Leading sustainability for procurement
- Leading program of driving best practice with stakeholders
