Production Supervisor

This newly created role will offer an experienced Production Supervisor the opportunity to make an impact with this company, who are going through a period of growth. You will be mechanically minded and be able to diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns.

What will you be doing; 

• This role involves managing and co-ordination of Production Operatives and operational processes of a production facility.
• You will diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns – Therefore a mechanical knowledge and ability is essential 
• You will have responsibility for a small team of 5 production operatives, ensuring compliance to Quality, Technical, Food Hygiene and Food Safety standards. In addition, a broad knowledge of production processes is required from a mechanical standpoint to ensure smooth running of the various lines and the ability to highlight, pre-empt and rectify problems.
• You must be a hands-on leader, able to ensure the production function is run in a smooth and efficient manner. As Production Supervisor you will pay attention to the production plan and forecasts to ensure the correct volumes are being manufactured at the right time. Working closely with other senior staff, you will manage and allocate tasks to the production team and maintain department records relating to volumes, waste, efficiency, quality and H&S.
• The position will involve all aspects of the production process from raw materials entering the site through to packaging of finished products.
• The successful candidate will work closely with the team to ensure a high quality and consistent product is being produced and there will be a requirement to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with other departments.
• Candidates will have experience of managing production teams ideally within a Food Manufacturing environment, a good fit could be from a small-to-medium sized operation where a “hands-on” approach is required.

• You will be confident, strive to get results in a busy production area, resourceful, and have a demonstrable track record of man-management and problem solving.
• Broad understanding of manufacturing lines and machinery
• Forklift truck licence desirable but not essential
• IT Literate

Salary 30k – 35k dependent of experience
