Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 to 5.30 with an hour for lunch
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Receptionist to join our clients team in Carmarthen. To help manage reception area operations in order to maximise sales and minimise costs and achieve/exceed profit related targets. To provide a complete professional reception service at all times and be ready to develop the knowledge of other team members in receptionist practice
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the highest levels of patient service are provided to all patients at all times.
- Be aware of and assist in the achieving of sales targets using good selling techniques.
- Ensure that the highest levels of patient service are achieved by leading by example.
- Always greet patients with a friendly smile and be ready to help at all times
- Ensure that the telephone is answered promptly and in the correct manner.
- When booking appointments via the telephone, offer alternative dates and times, verify whether the patient is Private/NHS and requires a sight test or contact lens check. Always ensure that they are aware of other details such as bringing in old pair of specs, directions to Practice etc.
- Implement the most efficient systems for booking appointments and seating patients.
- Recommend preferred choice products by liaising with the Practice Owner/Manager.
- Carry out the collection procedure accurately and efficiently, using excellent communication skills.
- Carry out adjustments to spectacles as required by patients.
- Manage the implementation of the Practice’s paperwork and banking system, including cashing up at the end of the day.
- Guide the patients through the frame selection process when a Dispensing Optician is unavailable.
- Ensure a smooth handover from Reception to Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians using the patient’s name.
- Use the Practice computer system/till to assist in patient registration and recording of sales
- Assist in the practice cleanliness and tidiness throughout the day.
- Assist in any duties concerning stock/stationery ordering and stock takes as requested by the Owner/Manager.
- Actively participate in training sessions either in Practice or externally on Sight care courses.
- Actively seek to improve your Reception skills level and product knowledge.
- Maintain standards of performance when the Owner/Manager is absent.
