WHO ARE THEY
This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s life, through joining our client’s close-knit team in Carmarthen, as a Supported Lodgings Worker. Our client is a charity that aid young people and vulnerable women all over Wales in the battle against homelessness.
THE ROLE
Salary £21,276 per annum, £12,765.60 pro rata
Our client is looking for either 2 part time staff or 1 full time, the part time hours will be at 21 hours per week. The role itself is somewhat hybrid, you are able to do your written/admin work from home. The working hours can also be somewhat flexible, as long as the needs of the young people in your care are met then you could do longer days and shorter days!
As a Supported Lodgings Worker, here are some of the things you will be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering supported lodgings of high quality to young people aged 16- to 25-year-olds that are homeless of threatened with homelessness.
- Working with colleagues and line management to ensure that any agreed upon goals for provision are met.
- Publicise and promote the Supported Lodgings Scheme.
- Meet young people that have been referred or are interested in the Supported lodgings Scheme. Assessing their suitability and then matching them with approved lodging providers in the area.
- Organise and facilitate forums regularly for the Supported Lodgings Providers.
- Ensure accurate records are kept of all work on the relevant paperwork, for example financial transactions such as Housing Benefit payments, rent payments etc.
- Be available for weekend on-call rota for emergency placements,
- Ensure young person build and maintains a community support network.
- Participation in teams meeting and x-over meetings with other staff.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful you would have to:
- Have an enhanced DBS, for child and adult (enclosures will be considered as long as they are not involving safeguarding or conflicts of interest. They will need to be fully explained.)
- Have experience working with complex children/young people and complex issues.
- Behaviour managements skills.
- Two references from most recent employers.
Desirable:
- Experience running a community hosting scheme
- Experience working within professional boundaries.
- Experience in assisted living.
- Understanding of young peoples’ family and/or support networks.
