Electrical Technician – Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire

Work for a global leader within the energy sector on a flagship UK energy site. We are Searching for a Permanent Electrical Technician to join a highly skilled and competent Maintenance Department.
THE ROLE…
- Carrying out the installation, preventive maintenance, repair and testing of a wide range of high, medium and low voltage industrial electrical equipment.
- You will also be responsible in overseeing and assisting the direction of technically proficient personnel to perform similar duties.
- Responsible for carrying out ATEx inspections and remedial work on a variety of systems.
- Ensures that all aspects of work are executed on time and in compliance with UK legislation
- Assist the Electrical Supervisor in ensuring all contract staff are fully utilised and have a full workload.
- Raises Permits for non-scheduled tasks and ensure correct PTW workflow is adhered to in all circumstances.
- Completes fault-finding and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Interprets technical drawings and updates with any changes following the installation of equipment.
- Carries out scheduled overhauls of low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment including electrical generators and transmission equipment, tools switchgear and transformers.
- Makes routine checks to ascertain faults in equipment by feel, sight or sound and carries out minor repairs as necessary
WHAT YOU WILL NEED….
- Minimum of an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an Electrical Craft Apprenticeship.
- Experienced and certified as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), and be familiar with a CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems).
- Significant knowledge of electrical maintenance practices and experience within an oil or gas processing plant in a requirement as is being proficient in Hazardous Area Inspection eg. COMPEx EX, 01, 02, 03 and 04
- Certified to 17th Edition wiring regulations
- Live locally to Pembrokeshire or be willing to relocate due to some requirements to be ‘on call’
