Mechanical Technician
Location: Pembrokeshire, onsite
HOURS: Full time – Days – TDO fortnight (1st week Mon-Fri 41hrs, 2nd week Mon-Thurs 34hrs)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £53,265.00 with significant progression on completion of competencies
Our client: Our client, located in the scenic coastal area of Pembrokeshire and operating in the Oil & Gas industry, is currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their Maintenance Department.
Job Description/ The role: In the role as Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, carrying out routine preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing faults on mechanical systems and equipment to comply with the Terminals reliability targets. You will also conduct task analysis and risk assessments for the performance of safety-critical tasks that support both preventative and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all reactive & preventative maintenance across a variety of critical equipment.
- Ensures that all aspects of work are executed on time and in compliance with UK legislation and standards.
- Installs, repairs and carries out site repairs as necessary, before recommissioning and testing equipment.
- Carries out major scheduled overhauls of rotating and static equipment systems which may be as a result of condition monitoring checks, or failures of equipment.
- Makes routine checks to ascertain faults in equipment by feel, sight or sound and carries out minor repairs as necessary.
- Provide mechanical technical support to all areas of the terminal.
- Ensures safety rules and regulations are established and maintained, and that good housekeeping is a normal practice, both in the workshop and in the work site field.
- Ensures specialist company tools and equipment are in good condition, calibrated where applicable, stored and controlled effectively.
What we need from you:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline and/or have extensive maintenance experience (including rotating equipment), preferably in oil & gas/petrochemicals Industries.
- Knowledge of Health, safety and environmental requirements associated with a top tier COMAH facility
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of planned maintenance, installation and repair activities
- Demonstrable Leadership qualities
