Mechanical Technician
Location: Pembrokeshire, onsite
HOURS: TDO fortnight (every other Friday off)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £55,396.00 (with significant increase on completion of milestones)
Our client Our client is based within the Oil & Gas industry in Pembrokeshire. They are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to work with their busy Maintenance team.
Job Description/ The role: The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe and reliable operation of mechanical equipment and systems at a major industrial facility. Working to high safety and technical standards, the role helps ensure ongoing operational efficiency and long-term equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance on critical mechanical equipment to ensure safe and reliable terminal operations.
- Diagnose faults, repair, install, test, and recommission mechanical systems in line with site and legislative standards.
- Complete major overhauls on rotating and static equipment, driven by condition monitoring or equipment failure.
- Ensure all work is delivered safely, compliantly, and on time, following company procedures and UK regulations.
- Provide mechanical technical support across the terminal, working closely with other technicians, contractors, and vendors.
- Support and deputise for the Mechanical Supervisor when required, including PTW, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
What we need from you:
- Completed mechanical craft apprenticeship or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
- Proven hands on experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills across a variety of equipment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including working with permit to work systems and isolation procedures.
- Experience with planned maintenance, installation, and repair activities; CMMS experience (preferably SAP) is a plus.
